Medical bandages are divided into two types: cotton gauze bandages and elastic bandages. Both gauze bandages and elastic bandages are mainly used for bandaging or fixation.
1. Cotton gauze bandage: mainly used for dressing and fixing external wounds in hospitals, surgeries, and homes after application of medication.
2. Elastic bandage: mainly used for fixing and bandaging patients with lower limb varicose veins, orthopedics, etc., to improve blood circulation and prevent limb swelling. It can also replace multi head abdominal bands after surgery and be used for pressure bandaging of different parts of the human body or general wound bandaging.
The main component of medical bandages in most pharmacies is degreased gauze, which is used for surgical injuries, sprains, post-operative bandaging, fixation, etc. Its main function is to prevent wound infection. Medical polymer bandages can also be used in surgery, orthopedics, lower limb varicose veins, to prevent blood circulation caused by limb swelling, and to bandage swelling diseases after the removal of limb fracture plaster.
