Nitrile gloves

Nitrile gloves are made of synthetic rubber and are often used as an alternative to latex gloves when someone is allergic to latex. They are also stronger than latex gloves, meaning they can be used more than once. They are resistant to oil, grease and chemical spatter (note: nitrile gloves are not resistant to ketones, oxidizing acids and nitrogen).

Disposable nitrile gloves are made with raw materials of Nitrile Rubber, they are widely used in many fields: Medical / Examination, Laboratory, Clinics, Food processing, Industry cleaning, Hair beauty, and also Electric industry.

We currently have several different items of nitrile gloves, they are with different quality (specification) and different price, please check the specification for different items as below, we also suggest our usage for the different quality nitrile gloves.

Features of Nitrile Gloves

Puncture resistance and durability
Nitrile Gloves are much more puncture resistant as latex gloves. This makes the gloves ideal for medical use. Although if they are stored away from light and heat, they can live through their shelf-life (about 5 years) without tearing.

Barrier protection and chemical resistance
Nitrile gloves are ideal for protection against blood borne pathogens which is essential when working in the medical field. They are also recommended in work environments that require working with chemicals. Nitrile offers more protection against chemicals than latex and vinyl mainly due the gloves being thicker and the material composition, they offer a better defensive layer.

Allergenic properties
Nitrile gloves contain no latex and therefore it won’t affect users with skin sensitivity.

Comfortable fit and tactile sensitivity
Nitrile gloves are easy to put on and take off. As these gloves are more elastic and provide more coverage. They are also much resistant to tearing as they are a thicker glove compared to vinyl and latex.

Waterproof abilities and temperature resistance
Nitrile gloves are waterproof as they made from rubber. They also provide a good grip in wet environment. They are also ideal when working in higher temperatures as they can withstand heat relatively well.

COMPOSITION OF NITRILE GLOVES
Nitrile gloves are primarily composed of a synthetic rubber material called nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR). This material is derived from acrylonitrile and butadiene, which are combined through a process called copolymerization. NBR offers superior resistance to chemicals, punctures, and tears compared to natural rubber or latex gloves. It also provides excellent tactile sensitivity and dexterity, making it suitable for various applications. Nitrile gloves may feature additional additives such as accelerators, stabilizers, or colorants to enhance their performance and appearance. The composition of nitrile gloves ensures optimal protection and durability for users in diverse industries.

Thickness Options
The thickness of nitrile gloves typically ranges from 2-8 mils (1mil=0.001inch), with a higher number representing a thicker glove. For tasks requiring extra protection and durability, a thicker glove is recommended. However, for tasks that require more dexterity and tactile sensitivity, a thinner glove will suffice.

Textured vs Smooth Surfaces
Nitrile gloves come in both textured and smooth surfaces. A textured surface provides better grip and control, making it ideal for handling wet or slippery objects. On the other hand, a smooth surface offers better sensitivity and precision, making it suitable for tasks that require fine motor skills.

Raw Material of Nitrile Gloves
Nitrile gloves are typically made from a synthetic polymer called nitrile rubber. Nitrile rubber is a copolymer of acrylonitrile and butadiene, and it is often used in various applications due to its strong resistance to chemicals, oils, and punctures. The raw materials used to produce nitrile gloves include acrylonitrile, butadiene, and various additives like accelerators, stabilizers, and colourants.

All protective gloves are tested and graded based on several European standards

01

EN374

Gloves tested to this standard and certified as such will withstand at least 10 minutes of contact with certain chemicals. Their suitability is tested according to penetration time, degradation level, and permeation rate.

02

EN1186

Gloves tested under EN1186 are deemed safe for contact with food.

03

EN420

All protective gloves must comply with general PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) regulations.

FAQ

Q: Are The Gloves Latex Free?

A: Yes, nitrile gloves are latex-free. Although they are also made from rubber, they go through an extra manufacturing step that extracts the latex proteins. They have an allergy rate of only 1%, significantly lower than that of latex gloves.

Q: Is It Possible to Get Nitrile Gloves Allergy?

A: Although The gloves of nitrile are devoid of latex which can cause allergies, there may be some components in them that can trigger an allergic reaction. Some manufacturers include chemical accelerators in their recipes. These are the ones that can trigger allergies. But there are a lot of good manufacturers out there that don’t use accelerator chemicals. If you want to reduce the chances of suffering from allergies, you should look for manufacturers that don’t use these accelerator chemicals. Their products have an almost zero per cent allergy rate.

Q: What is the difference between Nitrile and Vinyl Gloves?

A: Vinyl gloves are not as elastic as nitrile gloves. They also have poorer mechanical resistance, which means they are more likely to break compared to gloves of nitrile. Even just a slight pressure from your fingers can cause vinyl gloves to break.
On the other hand, vinyl doesn’t contain chemical accelerators that are present in some gloves of nitrile. This is why they are completely allergenic.

Q: Are Nitrile Gloves Toxic?

A: Nitrile material is generally nontoxic. You can find food-safe nitrile gloves. However, they should be used properly. For instance, you should only use gloves of nitrile that are intended for food handling. If you use nitrile gloves for other applications when handling food, that can lead to toxicity.

Q: Vinyl vs Nitrile Gloves for Food

A: Nitrile gloves, the food-safe kind, are superior to vinyl just because vinyl tends to break easily. They are more likely to incur damage such as small holes when used for extended periods. They also have a higher level of permeation from pathogens like viruses and bacteria and have poor resistance to common chemicals.

Ayida (Xiamen) P&C Technology Co., Ltd. is one of the leading nitrile gloves manufacturers and suppliers in China. We warmly welcome you to wholesale bulk breathable nitrile gloves for sale here from our factory. All custom made products are with high quality and competitive price.
