A tension reducer is a medical device used to reduce skin tension on both sides of a wound or incision. Its main purpose is to prevent scar hyperplasia and scar widening, thereby improving the appearance of the wound after healing. It is often used for scar management after surgical incisions and trauma sutures, especially for high-tension areas such as the chest, shoulders, back, and limbs.
Types of tension reducers
Tension-reducing tape: Suitable for areas with low or uneven skin tension such as the face and neck.
Skin tension-reducing buckle (needle-free skin tension-reducing suture): Stronger tension-reducing force, suitable for areas with high tension.

Working principle
The tension reducer closes the wound surface non-invasively through a "one-stick-one-pull" method, using the skin's own tension to promote wound healing and avoid the "centipede scar" problem caused by traditional sutures. Its core mechanism is to reduce the mechanical tension at the edge of the incision, thereby reducing the risk of scar hyperplasia.
Clinical effect
Studies have shown that the use of tension-reducing suture technology (such as heart-shaped tension-reducing suture combined with LBD suture) can significantly improve scar width, color, thickness, softness and other indicators, and the scar quality 6 months after surgery is significantly better than traditional suture methods.
Precautions
The tension reducer is relatively easy to operate, but attention should be paid to accurate fitting position and moderate tension.
For high-tension areas, the number of tension reducers can be appropriately increased to enhance the effect.
The tension reducer cannot replace good wound care and infection prevention measures.
