1. According to the different positions, different total widths of gauze should be selected. Generally, new elastic bandages (7.5X450cm wide) are used for the upper limbs, medium-sized elastic bandages (10X450cm wide) are used for the front of the knees, and small-sized elastic bandages (15 * 450cm wide) are used for the knees; The method of bundling depends on the purpose of the application. The elastic bandage used for tying the circulatory system should have the standard of being suitable for veins, having a balanced and elevated venous working pressure, and not limiting venous return or aortic blood supply due to excessive working pressure.
2. After tying the elastic bandage, it must be flat and wrinkle free, especially at the joints. After knee movement, the gauze is prone to wrinkling, causing stress on the popliteal fossa, as if it has reached a tourniquet. The tightness and looseness of the coil should be moderate, based on personal comfort after bundling. The tying of elastic bandages should be carried out before waking up every morning. If the patient has already woken up, they should be bedridden again, raised to allow the venous blood to be drained, and then tied again.

3. When tying, it is necessary to start from the foot and slowly coil upwards until the desired height to width ratio is reached. During the entire bundling process, adjacent double-layer elastic bandages should be overlapped by two-thirds of the top and bottom, otherwise it is difficult to level after bundling. Go to remove them every night when you fall asleep.
4. During the application of elastic bandages, the color of the body's skin and the swelling condition on the affected side should be observed daily to facilitate the observation of its actual effect. Patients with lower limb varicose veins undergoing conservative therapy should persistently apply elastic bandages daily for a long time; Patients with deep vein thrombosis must apply elastic bandages, at least for 3 months or even for life, whether during the limited active period or at the beginning of activity, to maintain the function of superficial veins and transportation veins in the heart valve, reduce or eliminate symptoms.
